You may remember the life-sized painted lions that landed in London and other cities across the globe this summer as part of the Tusk Trust Lion Trail. The trail brought to life the stories of these iconic predators as well as the people who work tirelessly to protect them. Curated by Chris Westbrook, the trail was in situ for six weeks over the summer and covered a number of international iconic locations.
The London Pride included a spectacular array of artworks from some of the world’s foremost artists, musicians and comedians including Rolling Stones guitarist, Ronnie Wood, wildlife photographer, David Yarrow, artists Ian Davenport, Gavin Turk, David Mach, Jake Chapman and Helen Downie – who designed and painted the Boodle Hatfield lion and actors John Cleese, Noel Fielding, Mathew Horne and Lee Mack.
Now you have the opportunity to bid on the 47 unique life-sized lion sculptures which will be sold at Bonhams on November 9th to raise vital funds to support Tusk’s ongoing conservation programmes across Africa.
